About Engineering Design and Advance Manufacturing Unit

The unit is charged with the design of casings/packaging of ELDI products and also design of mechanical systems. In doing this, scientific principles, technical information and imagination are employed in defining a mechanical structure, machine system or product to pre-specified function. Most design is done using Computer Aided Design (CAD) and Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) tools. These tools allow for modeling, simulation, 3D scanning, machine tools integration and other task that would normally require separate operators to handle. Where there is need to prototype a particular casing or component, CNC machines are used.
